Darrel is Los Angeles based Production Character & Prop Designer as well as a Visual Development Artist for TV, DVD, Video, Streaming, & Feature Animation.
His most recent credits include "The Simpsons Movie", "The Good, The Bart, and The Loki"(2021 short), "Playdate with Destiny"(2020 short), "The Simpsons Game"(Video Game), as well as "The Simpsons" Prime time TV series for Fox (now owned by The Walt Disney Company). He was also an instrumental team player as a character and prop designer in the creation of "The Simpsons" Universal Ride for Universal Studios Theme Parks.
While working at Warner Bros. Animation Studios he had several positions as a Character/Prop Designer and Development Team Member. His credentials include "What's New, Scooby Doo", "Duck Dodgers", "Static Shock" (Two Seasons), "Ozzy & Drix", "Pinky and The Brain", "Road Rovers", and "Animaniacs". He was inclusive on special projects such as DVD/video Movies and Shorts--"Animaniacs - The Wishing Star" and "Scooby Doo- Pirates Ahoy".
He enjoyed his time at Walt Disney Animation Studios working on titles such "Darkwing Duck" and "Talespin" as a designer.
In the past he has also worked on "G.I. Joe Extreme", "The Tick", "X-Men", "Conan and The Young Warriors", "Skeleton Warriors", "The Adventures of Corduroy The Bear", "Stone Protectors", and "Sgt. Savage and The Screaming Eagles" (Promotional Video).
He has been an Art Director, Character, and Prop Designer working for many toy industry clients such as Mattel, Hasbro, and various video game makers.
After graduating from CalArts he landed first job in Hollywood with Landmark Global Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. as a Visual Development/Principal Character and Inanimate Object Designer. He was a team player in the creation of a dark ride (boat) for the theme park San Rio's Puro-Harmony Land located in Oita, Japan.
Some of his accomplishments include being a publisher of greeting cards and "Anvil Anthology" Comic Magazine with well known professional industry artists and animators.
During his early teen years he was once known as the world's youngest professional cartoonists selling his Gag Cartoon Panels to such magazines as "Saturday Evening Post", "The National Enquirer", and "Boy's Life Magazine ".
He is an Emmy Award Winner and fully accredited in IMDB. He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences as well as a union member of the Animation Guild Local 839 IATSE. Darrel is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts.
