- Ole Bornedal - born in Denmark. Lives in Denmark. Had his International breakthrough with the horror-classic Nightwatch, which was also his debut as a filmmaker. At the same time working as the youngest executive in the Danish National Television as head of TV-Drama. In many ways Nightwatch did introduce which was later named as "Nordic Noir". The film won international acclaim and rewards and took him to Hollywood where he worked for two years, with Dimension Films and Miramax, where he joined a team of ambitious directors like Soderberg, Del Toro, Tarantino and Rodriquez. He made his American version of Nightwatch starring Ewan McGregor, Josh Brolin, Patricia Arquette and Nick Nolte and worked as a creative producer on Del Toros first American film "Mimic". After a few "creative battles" with the Weinsteins, he left the company and returned to Denmark. Since then he has written and directed some of the most significant Danish films and TV-series over the past two decades. Such films as I Am Dina - with Mads Mikkelsen and Gerard Depardieu. Just another Love Story. Internationally acclaimed TV-series like Deep Water and the war epic "1864" - the biggest Scandinavian TV series made. Bornedal went to the US again, invited by Sam Raimi and directed the blockbuster hit The Possession, starring Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. "The Bombardement" aka "Shadows in my Eyes" has been one of the strongest Scandinavian films on Netflix and in Rotten Tomatoes called the "best movie" in a decade. Bornedal is represented by Ken Stovitz Management and The Danish Filmmakers Association.

- Applied to the National Film School of Denmark, but was not accepted. He humorously describes his interview in front of a committee consisting of a bored Mogens Rukov, a flirtatious Kirsten Thorup and Jørgen Leth, who allegedly left the room.
- In the mid-'90s he was given a multi-picture deal with Miramax and directed the American remake of his Danish hit, Nightwatch (1994). Miramax/Dimension brought him in as a co-producer on Del Torros first American movie, Mimic (1997) along with the Weinsteins and worked for a couple of years as a script supervisor. Returned to Denmark in order to take care of his family along with several more local projects such as "Deep Water" mini-series for television that won the Cologne TV-Film-Festival. Theater-work. "I Am Dina" (starring Depardieu, Eccleston and Mads Mikkelsen) which won the Montreal Film Festival. The suspense thriller "Just Another Love Story". Sci Fi for kids: "The Substitute" and "Deliver us from Evil". All of the titles participating and winning awards in festivals like in Toronto, Sundance and throughout Europe. Worked with Sam Raimi and Ghosthouse on The Possession which grossed more than 80 mil dollar worldwide.

- Ole Bornedal is one of few directors who has both worked in film and theater. Between 2001 and 2005 he was Theatre Manager of one of Copenhagens most popular and innovative theaters Aveny Teatret - and has written and directed several plays. Among them his own re-written version of Macbeth, Die, Heaven, Jeppe and Screamers.
