Biography

Doug Booth is both an instructor and a performer of guitar and bass. Beginning at the age of 10, Doug has studied piano, flute, and percussion, in addition to the bass and guitar. Interested in many different styles of music, he eventually found that his ear bent towards the jazz guitar styles of Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, and early George Benson. By age 15, Doug was chosen to play with the Santa Clara Honor Jazz Band and a year later with the California All State Jazz Band. You can hear Doug on a variety of recordings including the recordings of the jazz fusion group, Ars Nova, and Zappa guitarist Mike Keneally's internationally released CD's. Doug also performs as a long-standing member of the award-winning, San Diego-based classic rock cover band Rockola.
