Biography

In the next decades he had successful appearances at different theaters, and in 1905 he founded his own theater in Berlin called "Ferdinand Bonns Berliner Theater", which was specialized in dramatic plays beside the plays concerning Sherlock Holmes.

The actor Ferdinand Bonn was a distinguished theater director who wrote among others the stage plays "Sherlock Holmes" (06) and "Der Hund von Baskerville".

In 1959 was the Bonnweg inaugurated in Vienna in memory of the great actor.

He impersonated the famous detective Sherlock Holmes in five movies.

First he studied jurisprudence but he abandoned and he turned to the acting. After successful acting lessons he made his stage debut in 1885 with the role of "Derwisch" in the play "Nathan der Weise".
