  • Colette Boky was born on June 4, 1935 in Montreal, Québec, Canada. She is an actress, known for Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor (1965), Opernführer (1965) and The Metropolitan Opera Presents (1977).

Trivia

  • She was a model before becoming a soprano who worked in many famous opera houses. She won the Quebec prize for performing arts Prix Denise-Pelletier in 1986 and is a professor at the UQAM music school in Montréal and has been its classical section director from 1997.
  • She also staged many operas in her career.
  • Studied voice at the École de musique Vincent-d'Indy from 1953-55, and then privately with Laurette Bailly. After winning a voice competition in 1958, she entered the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal, where she was a pupil of Roy Royal and Otto-Werner Mueller.
  • Taught at L'Université du Québec from 1981 and served as artistic director of the opera studio there.
