Willie Bobo was born on February 28, 1934 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor and composer, known for Out of Sight (1998), Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) and The Game (1997). He was married to Alicia. He died on September 15, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Father of hip-hop MC Eric Correa (Bobo), affiliated with Cypress Hill.

Given the nickname 'Bobo' by jazz pianist Mary Lou Williams in the 1950's.

American percussionist (expert timbales player) of Puerto Rican ancestry, trained by his later friend Mongo Santamaria. Began his musical career in the orchestra of Latin band leader Machito at the age of fourteen.

Sideman with Tito Puente (1954-57), Cal Tjader (1958-61) and Mongo Santamaria's charanga band (1961-62). Formed own Latin-Jazz fusion groups (1963-64 and 1965). Had his biggest hit in 1965 with "Spanish Grease" for Verve Records.
