Won the Tour de France three times in a row: 1953, 1954 and 1955.

Louison Bobet was a French professional road racing cyclist, and the first rider to win the Tour de France in three successive years, from 1953 to 1955.

Louison Bobet had a succession of businesses after he stopped racing, including a clothes shop, but he became best known for investing in and developing the seawater health treatment of thalassotherapy. He had used it when recovering from his car crash. He opened the Louison Bobet centre beside the sea at Quiberon.

Bobet is said to have carried messages for the Resistance during the Second World War. After D-Day he joined the army and served in eastern France. He was demobilised in December 1945.

Bobet's career effectively ended when the car carrying him and his brother Jean crashed outside Paris in the autumn of 1960.
