  • Denise Blasor was born in France, educated in Italy and of Puerto Rican parents; she returned to the island during her teens until she moved to Chicago and joined the St. Nicholas Theater Ensemble working with Steven Schachter and William H. Macy. She later became a Los Angeles regular on the theatre scene, working at the Odyssey Theatre, Bilingual Foundation of the Arts, South Coast Repertory Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, LATC, Skylight Theatre, Fountain Theatre, Million Dollar Theatre, The Orpheum Theatre, etc. She also began working on independent features, cartoon voices such as Ceci in Bruce Willis Lee Unkrich - Oscar Winner Film Coco (2017) Coco, Adelie Chica in George Miller Oscar Winner Film Happy Feet (2006) and guest starred in several TV Pilots and shows including FX's: Snowfall (2017) Snowfall in the recurring role of Doña Rosa and as Felicidad Noriega in Roger Spottiswoode Roger Spottiswoode Showtime's Film - Noriega: God's Favorite (2000)Noriega: God's Favorite with Bob Hoskins Bob Hoskins. While starring in the title role of "Yerma" by 'Federico Garcia Lorca', she was seen by producer Moctesuma Esparza. Impressed by her stunning, heart-wrenching performance, he cast her in Death in Granada (1996) with Esai Morales and Andy Garcia. She portrayed Spanish Diva Margarita Xirgu who was Lorca's main stage actress and the star of "Yerma." Denise continues to produce, direct, write and perform on stage. She is Artistic Director of L.A. Diversified and has performed in Mexico, Spain, and the United States. She's now Associate Artistic Director of Bilingual Foundation of the Arts and has been nominated best director for various productions including Fefu and her Friends, Blood Wedding, Wild in Wichita and Casa de Bernarda Alba. She directed and performed in the Political Musical Calle de la Resistencia (2021) Calle de la Resistencia which was produced and shot during the 2020 Pandemic with original music by Milton Carrero and produced by Carrero Creatives & Rollin' Dice Productions. Calle de la Resistencia is an emotional look at the struggle of the Puerto Rican people. Uniquely shot, the film blends real-life footage and staged musical production.
