Jolene Blalock was born and raised in San Diego, California. At age 16, she left home to pursue a modeling career in Europe and Asia. It was on a 1998 trip back to the United States that Blalock was compelled to flex her untested acting skills, and after a few commercial appearances and some skill-sharpening at Stella Adler Academy and Toronto's Second City Improv and Second City Los Angeles, she made her acting debut on NBC's Veronica's Closet (1997). Already comfortable in front of the camera, Blalock's magnetism shined through the lens and she was soon cast as Medea in the made-for-TV movie Jason and the Argonauts (2000) alongside acting greats Dennis Hopper and Frank Langella. Blalock is best known for her role as the Vulcan Sub-Commander T'Pol on Star Trek: Enterprise (2001). In 2004, Blalock signed on to film Slow Burn (2005), opposite Ray Liotta. She then went on to play Captain Lola Beck in Starship Troopers 3: Marauder (2008). Blalock has guest-starred on the television series, House (2004), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000) and CSI: Miami (2002). She is married to Michael Rapino, CEO and President of Live Nation.

Growing up, she was a huge fan of the original Star Trek (1966) series. Her favorite character was Spock.
In April 2003, she took Michael Rapino and their entire families on vacation to Jamaica, where she got down on her knees and proposed to him: she asked him to marry her at 6:15 pm the next day, with both families in attendance. He accepted, and so they did. Except for Rapino, everyone knew in advance of Jolene's plans.
A skilled artist, whose preferred medium is crayon, Blalock is also an avid surfer since childhood. She has her own action figures made in her likeness from the television series Star Trek: Enterprise (2001). She also enjoys Thai boxing and photography.
Her name is a Scottish derivation of Black Lock, meaning "Black Hair".
In 2004, Jolene was stalked by a man who was an obsessed fan of hers. He was arrested and sent to a hospital for mental evaluation.

I like men who are very cool but also so brilliant that they are almost insane. Sean Penn, Gary Oldman, Tom Waits - men who would be flipping burgers if they hadn't found an outlet for their brilliant mind-sets. I also like men who have hands with big masculine veins that you can squish and move.
Spock was the sex symbol. A lot of people think it was Kirk. But no, it was really Spock.
I'm here for the character rather than the va-va or the voom.

(April 2006) Without my Vulcan catsuit, Frankenstein wig and pointed ears, I don't get recognized. I love the fact I'm a shapeshifter who can go unnoticed.
