As a student, I learned that technique was not enough. Passion, determination, and perseverance were key to success. I also had a place where all the students around me were hungry for the same thing. As a teacher at Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA), I appreciated that collaboration within and across departments were essential to train well-rounded artist.
