  • Eric Blair is the founder of Mission Film a noted and Award-Winning Production Company (2000 - current). Mission Film's feature film '12 O'Clock Boys' made use of it's specialized high-speed camera, Phantom HD, (Phantom Flex/Phantom Flex 4K) system, for slow motion sequences, and technical advancements, used for the film.

    Eric Blair functioned as both Producer and Director of the high-speed, Phantom Camera HD (Unit), slow motion, sequences for the acclaimed feature documentary '12 O'Clock Boys', theatrically released in 2014.

    Before starting Mission Film in 2000, Eric previously worked as a freelance director, producer, Steadicam operator and editor on a variety of international, award-winning, projects (1993 - 2000).

    Eric Blair, born and raised in Baltimore City, has been making movies since he was 8 years old. While the equipment he uses has changed over the past 36 years, his love of the art of storytelling through innovative visual techniques remains the same. Mr. Blair has worked on numerous films and television projects throughout the area, including 'Homicide: Life on the Street' and HBO's 'The Corner'.

    In 2002 Mr. Blair was honored to be selected to work on 'Travelers and Magicians' - the first film to be shot in Bhutan, which was co-produced by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso and directed by Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche who also directed acclaimed film 'The Cup' (1999). Traveling to Bhutan, the Himalayan nation/kingdom, and living with the Bhutanese, was a spiritual journey for Mr. Blair, one that affects him to this day providing the basis for passionate support of lifelong learning and personal growth.

    Other notable film, TV and commercial credits include: HBO, Showtime, NFL Films, MGM, Charm City Cakes ("Ace of Cakes"), Nike, Timex, Oracle, The Baltimore Ravens, Oscilloscope Labs, The Sundance Creative Documentary Lab, PBS, National Geographic, ESPN, The Discovery Channel, The National Aquarium, STX Lacrosse, The International Buddhist Film Festival, MissionTix, The Advertising Association of Baltimore (co-chair / short film director for the AAB's Addy Awards), Johns Hopkins, The University of Maryland, The Baltimore City Police, The Brewers Art, The Contemporary Museum Baltimore, The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore and many more.

    As well as teaching Film Production at Towson University, his alma mater, from 1995 -2000, Mr. Blair continues to live and work in Baltimore, the city that he loves.
