- I think making and experiencing art is inherently spiritual. When you are really in the work there is this sense a creative force is working through you and you are sort of co-creating. I think great art inspires us because it impregnates us with this creative spirit and consciously or not we know we are looking at God.
- If you are anti-black you are my natural enemy. Many anti-black people I've met are not white, such is the corrosive nature of white supremacy on the heart, mind and spirit. You've got to look the devil in the eye, call it by its name and not relinquish your humanity or self respect. That is success because the whole point of that evil is to dehumanize you.
