  • Trivia
During his tenure as Head of Makeup at RKO, Mel Berns commanded an entire building and had 33 hairdressers and makeup men working under him. In 1939 he brought in his old pal, Perc Westmore, to create the prodigious prosthetics for Charles Laughton in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". Neither of them received an on screen credit for this.
