Edward Allen Bernero was born on 29 August 1962 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Third Watch (1999), Criminal Minds (2005) and Crossing Lines (2013).

Prior to becoming a writer, he spent ten years as a night shift beat
cop with the Chicago Police Department.

Father of actress <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm1057085/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Amanda Bernero</a>.

Founded the Chicago Screenwriters Network in 1995.
