- Subject of George Eells' book "Ginger Loretta and Irene Who?". Irene Bentley is the actress who simply walked away from Hollywood. Despite Eell's best efforts, he was never able to find any trace of her after she left Hollywood.
- Niece of composer Harry B. Smith; not to be confused with his wife who also appeared professionally under the name of Irene Bentley (on the New York stage in the early 1900s), and who died in 1940.
