Sam Benson was born on January 1, 1886 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an actor and costume designer, known for Trouble Preferred (1948), Wintertime (1943) and Looking for Trouble (1934). He died on June 13, 1957 in West Hollywood, California, USA.

He worked for William Fox and 20th Century Fox from 1925 till his death in June of 1957.

Father of Marjorie Benson the casting director and grandfather of Steven Benson the actor. Brother-in-law of Gertrude Bank.
