Garrett M. Benson is a native of Los Angeles and a third generation
filmmaker. The family legacy begins with his Set Designer grandfather
and continued on with his Director of Photography dad.
It's no surprise that some of Garrett's fondest memories are of going to the set with his dad where he would sit on the dolly and peer through the eyepiece of a Panavision camera. It was times like those he remembers which confirms his belief in becoming a Cinematographer.
Garrett's passion and curiosity for photography carried him through high school and then on to The University of Southern California where he studied film production. His interest in making films sprouted into a passion that has become the guiding force in his life.
He soon joined the International Cinematographers Guild as a Film Loader and progressed through the stages of the camera department brooding his horizons.
Today, Garrett is exploring his talents as a Director of Photography shooting Independent Films, Commercials, Documentaries and Music Videos.
