Peter Bennett was born on September 17, 1917 in Chelsea, London, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Lady Chatterley's Lover (1981), The Adventures of Robin Hood (1955) and BBC Sunday-Night Theatre (1950). He was married to Sheila Bramwell-Jones. He died on December 23, 1989 in London, England, UK.

Trained at RADA and made his stage debut in 1936.

Appointed to the National Council for Drama Training in 1979.

The final version of Cromwell (1970), at one stage, was one hundred eighty minutes long, but it was cut down to one hundred forty-one minutes, deleting several featured roles in the process including: Felix Aylmer (in his final film) as an archbishop, and Bryan Pringle, Peter Bennett, Tony Caunter, George A. Cooper, and Willam Lucas.

His part in the film Cromwell was cut.
