For more than 50 years, as an editor and screenwriter, he collaborated with the Studio of Popular Science Films (Mosnauchfilm, then Tsentrnauchfilm). He specialized in geographical and environmental films, as well as biographical films about the life of prominent artists. Since 1945 he has been trying his hand at feature films. He participated in the creation of scripts for the films The Taras Family (1945) by Mark Donskoy and The Last Inch (1959) based on the story of the same name by James Aldridge. Together with Agasi Babayan, he created a trilogy about the adventures of a lynx based on the works of Vitaliy Bianki. Since 1959, Belokurov also wrote scripts for animated films. Fruitfully collaborated with the director Roman Davydov. Their most famous collaboration was the Mowgli series based on 'The Jungle Book' by writer Rudyard Kipling. As a cinema expert, he authored articles in thematic collections ('Yearbook of Cinema. 1956'; 'Popular Science Film') and periodicals.
