Biography

Lionel Belmore was born on May 12, 1867 in Wimbledon, London, England, UK. He was an actor and director, known for Frankenstein (1931), Bardelys the Magnificent (1926) and The Vampire Bat (1933). He was married to Emmeline Florence Carder. He died on January 30, 1953 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Stocky, beetle-browed, white-haired British character actor, on Broadway from 1899 and in American films from 1914. He also directed several shorts between 1914 and 1918. During the 1930's, Belmont was gainfully employed in Hollywood as English butlers, innkeepers, lairds, burgomasters and town elders.
