Biography

Cedric Belfrage was born on November 8, 1904 in Marylebone, London, England, UK. He was a writer, known for Living in Hollywood (1939), Hollywood (1980) and Salute to America (1939). He was married to Mary Bernick, Molly Castle, Virginia Bradford and Josephine Diaz. He died on June 21, 1990 in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico.

London-born socialist writer who, at various times, worked as a newspaper man, press agent, script reader at Universal studios and film critic (apparently, so acerbic in the latter capacity, that he was 'ejected from four studios' and ended up being deported from the United States during the McCarthy era). Co-founded the radical paper National Guardian.

Brother of Bruce Belfrage, brother-in-law (1930-193?) of Joan Henley, (1952-1990) of Joyce Belfrage. Father of Sally Belfrage and 'Nicholas Belfarge'.
