Pablo Behrens(I)

Pablo Behrens was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. Lives in London since 1980. He is producer, writer and director of the feature film London's Last Wilderness (2026). Before this film Pablo directed and produced the UK feature film Adrift in Soho (2019) based on the cult novel of the same name by Colin Wilson, first published in 1961. Pablo earned his wild river credentials during the early 1990s while working as location manager for Brazilian director Hector Babenco and UK director Charles Sturrige in Brazil and Venezuela, respectively. With Babeco he explored the Amazon and Negro rivers near Manaus for the film At Play In the Fields of the Lord; for Sturridge he was stationed for three months in the upper reaches of the Orinoco river for the UK film A Handful of Dust. In 2020 Pablo produced and directed the short film 'The Crossing' about the Thames Estuary which won awards and provided the basis for his next feature film London's Last Wilderness. Between 2004-10 Pablo directed several UK shorts such as The Last Walk, One Day In The Life Of a Peace Camp, Oriel Last Stand and The Making of Oliver Twist. In 2000 he produced the feature film El Chevrole (The Lifejacket is Under Your Seat) an Uruguay/Argentina co-production directed by Leonardo Ricagni. During the 1990s and 1980s Pablo worked freelance in the film production of commercials in London for UK television in various capacities working himself up the production ladder in more than 100 commercials and pop promos. Among many notable UK directors and photographers Pablo worked with are photographers Annie Leibovitz (Barcelona), Nadav Kander (London) and Eve Arnold (North of England) and the commercial directors Roger Lunn and Paul Street among many others. Nowadays as well as writer and director Pablo is also a photographer, free-lance journalist and blogger when there is something interesting to cover. Pablo is currently a writer, producer and director for Burning Films (UK) Ltd. Pablo also represents Metropolis Films (Uruguay) in London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Barcelona and Moscow. In the UK Pablo is involved in marine conservation matters by bringing public awareness to the power of nature in the Greater Thames Estuary as well as other rivers and coastal waters worldwide.
