George P Becket was born as Gheorghe Pompiliu Berechet on 17 Nov. 1942
in Bucharest, Romania. His mother was a physician and his father a
French architect. He wanted to become an interior designer, began to
study medicine, but changed to acting at the "Theatre and Film
Institute" Bucharest, which he finished as a theatre director, in 1969.
He defected his native country on a ship in 1971, asking political
asylum in US America, settling in Los Angeles. After a while he changed
his name becoming George P Becket. Starting from 1987 he worked as an
Art Director and Production Designer for NBC TV serials as "JAG",
"Santa Barbara", "Sunset Beach", "Passions" and lately with director
Jesse Warren in "The Bannen Way", in 2010.
