Biography

Robert Beck was born on August 4, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He was a writer, known for Mama Black Widow (2011), Pimp: The Story of My Life and Trick Baby (1972). He was married to Diane Millman. He died on April 28, 1992 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

His pseudonym, Iceberg Slim, inspired the stage names of hip-hop emcees Ice-T and Ice Cube.

Had an IQ of 175 and was a self-taught writer.

His first book, "Pimp: The Story of My Life", influenced the writings of Detroit authors, Donald Goines and Andrew Stonewall Jackson. Both of whom also wrote for Holloway House publishing company.
