Biography

Sammy Bayes is better known as Sammy Dallas Bayes to the people of Oneonta, New York, a small town outside of Cooperstown, as the director of almost every Orpheus Theatre production since the mid-90s. These credits include the musicals "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", "Footloose", "Phantom of the Opera" and "Oliver!", which he has done twice. He is noted for his work with chorus members.

Was nominated for Broadway's 1969 Tony Award as Best Choreographer for "Canterbury Tales."

Has two children, Taylor Dorsey "T" Bayes and Alexa Bayes. They regularly appear as chorus members in his shows.
