Biography

Matthew Bates was born in Wolverhampton, England. He is an actor and writer known for his film appearances as the Kafka Author in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001), Men in Black: International (2019), Somewhere Boy (2022) and Nolly with Helena Bonham-Carter (2023). He has also narrated over 80 audiobook titles including the Last Kingdom series by Bernard Cornwell, the Rekke & Vargas detective books by David Lagercrantz and the WW2 histories of the SAS by Damian Lewis.
