Biography

Georg Baselt was born on August 23, 1869 in Breslau, Poland. He was an actor, known for Die Insel der verbotenen Küsse (1927), Hampels Abenteuer (1915) and Variety (1925). He died on June 20, 1928 in Berlin, Germany.

Georg Baselt entered the film business in 1915, but the height of his cinematical career followed in the 20s.

The actor Georg Baselt began his stage career in Torgau in 1890. It soon followed engagements in other German cities, among them also Berlin in 1898. Three years later he want to New York where he worked for one year, afterwards he returned to Germany.

He was very successful on stage with comical roles which made him popular for the audience.

Georg Baselt was not only active as an actor at the theater but he also realised several plays as a director, among them in London and Berlin.

One year after his last movie he died at the age of only 59.
