Biography

Christine Bartlett and her husband Reginald Bartlett arrived in Sofia in 1956. Initially they were both professors at the University, but then Mrs. Bartlett began to teach in the English Language School in Sofia. Mrs. Bartlett said, she is a communist and maintain very weak links with the British legation. She is a director of the Amateur Performance "How Important is to be Ernest" in School Drama Troupe. Her students describe her as a queer fish and well unforgettable. Christine Bartlett was a irrevocable part of Bulgarian education. She had many students, which became artist, diplomats, biologists, translators, teachers, mathematicians, economists, engineers, tourism and foreign trade figures, large number of scientists, having academic rank,etc. The Bulgarian director Nikolay Volev, married to an Englishwoman, recommended her to his friend - the director Georgi Djulgerov for the role of Miss Stone in the movie and TV series "Measure According to Measure".
