Eleanor Barry was born on June 14, 1860 in San Francisco, California, USA. She was an actress, known for The Lion and the Mouse (1914), Through Fire to Fortune (1914) and The Great Ruby (1915). She was married to William Bury Irwin Dasent and James Gilbert Chesley. She died on March 13, 1946 in Alameda County, California, USA.

Her father Jasper Babcock (1821-1896) served as the Secretary of State for the state of Nevada from 1879 to 1883.

Her first husband, James Gilbert Chesley (1847-1909) served as Deputy Secretary of State under her father Jasper Babcock.
