Ary Barroso was born on 7 November 1903 in Ubá, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He was a composer and actor, known for Brazil (1985), Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017) and Strictly Ballroom (1992). He died on 9 February 1964 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

His more famous song &quot;Aquarela do Brasil&quot; is considered the popular
anthem of Brazil.

Was also a narrator and commentator of soccer.

Was good friend of actress and singer Carmen Miranda.
