Franklyn Barrett was born in 1874 in England, UK. He was a cinematographer and director, known for The Pioneers (1916), Australia's Peril (1917) and A Girl of the Bush (1921). He died on July 16, 1964 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Founded Barrett's Australian Productions, a film production company, in 1922.
