Biography

Edith Barr was born on June 1, 1936 in La Victoria District, Lima, Peru. She is an actress, known for Santo vs. the Strangler (1965), Santo vs. the Ghost of the Strangler (1966) and Un gallo con espolones (Operación ñongos) (1964).

The Waldorf Astoria in New York had never hosted a Peruvian singer before she walked on stage there at age 16.

Despite childhood stage fright, she began performing at a neighborhood music center and sneaking off to accompany her grandmother to Lima radio stations by age 10.

Her uncle Gonzalo Barr was a noted bolero singer.
