- Ricardo Baroja was born in 1873 in Minas de Riotinto, Huelva, Andalucía, Spain. He was an actor and writer, known for La nao Capitana (1947), Al Hollywood madrileño (1927) and The Sixth Sense (1929). He died in 1953 in Vera de Bidasoa, Navarra, Spain.

- He was a writer, stage playwright and painter. As a writer, he was awarded the Cervantes prize for his novel "Los dos hermanos piratas". As a painter, even if he had lost an eye, he won the first medal at the Madrid Bellas Artes Exhibit in 1908.
