  • Andreas Barkoulis was a Greek actor and one of the most celebrated leading men of Greek cinema, theatre, and television. He studied acting at the Kostis Michailidis Drama School, where he was recognized as an exceptional talent. He debuted on stage in 1956 and in film in 1957 with Maria Pentagiotissa (1957), later appearing in over a hundred films, including dramas such as Society Hour Zero (1966), Kontserto gia polyvola (1967), and Olga, agapi mou (1968), as well as comedies like An Italian in Greece (1958), Vacations in Aegina (1958), and I theia mou, i hipissa (1970). Known for his charisma and screen presence, Barkoulis became an emblematic figure of Greek cinema. He married four times and had three children, spending his later years with his fourth wife, Maria, and their son Nikolaos.
