After many years living in Hawaii after retiring from the adult-film industry, she moved to San Francisco, where she eventually died broke and homeless.

Because no one claimed her body in a timely manner, it was donated to a local university for medical science. She was later cremated, and her ashes scattered into the San Fransisco Bay.

Court records show that Hawaiian shipping mogul and railroad heir, Laurence H. Dorcy left her a sizable amount of cash when he died. However, she could not be located and never received the money.

After the death of her father, Albert Edens Dotson, in May of 1962, she was raised by her mother, Annie Louise Dotson (née McKinney), and step-father, Harold Barbour, who married later that same year.

She was long believed to have been born Linda Jean Smith in 1956 in Shawnee Mission, KS. After her death, trying to find next-of-kin, this information was publicly declared false.

Inducted posthumously into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2013.

Inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2009.

At the time of her death she was homeless and living on the streets of San Francisco.

Daughter of Albert Edens Dotson and Annie Louise Dotson (née McKinney). Grew up in Dothan, AL, and attended Girard Junior High School in Dothan from 1972-74.

Court records show that she may have had a son, lending credence to reports that she had one and possibly two children. At least one of them is rumored to be with her former boyfriend Richard Madenfort.
