In his twenty-plus years in television and film, Matthew Barber has established himself as a versatile storyteller and consummate problem-solver: skilled as an editor, producer, and director. Most recently, he edited and co-produced Ride or Die (Amazon), the network's #1 series, and edited the Emmy-nominated Long Bright River (Peacock). He previously worked as an editor on the Emmy-winning Dopesick (Hulu) and the Jordan Peele-produced Hunters (Amazon).

Barber's filmmaking philosophy is rooted in versatility: "My specialty is figuring out what the project needs and then delivering it." Whether editing for emotional impact, producing to realize a vision, or directing to unlock a story's potential, he brings a bespoke, solution-oriented approach to every role. His background in music further informs his work: he has an intuitive gift for identifying the feeling a scene needs and finding the right music.

As a documentary filmmaker, Barber has explored complex cultural and social narratives in Give Me Sex Jesus and the in-progress Casa Tem Dendê, a film centering the Capoeira Brasil Los Angeles community.
