Vana Barba

Vana Barba is a Greek actress and former fashion model who rose to national prominence through the pageant circuit. Raised in Ioannina, she began her professional career at age eighteen after winning the title of Miss Hellas in 1984. That same year, she represented Greece as a contestant in the Miss World competition, which served as a springboard into the entertainment industry. Her international breakthrough occurred with her performance in the Italian film Mediterraneo (1991). The film achieved significant global success, winning the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and established her as a recognizable figure in European cinema. Following this achievement, she transitioned into a prolific career in Greek television and theater, becoming a staple of mainstream entertainment throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
