Biography

Tony Banks was born on April 8, 1942 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. He was an actor, known for Solitaire for 2 (1995), Roy & H.G.'s Planet Norwich (1998) and Behind the Headlines (1990). He was married to Sally Jones. He died on January 8, 2006 in Fort Myers, Florida, USA.

[1983-2005] Labour MP for West Ham.

Took the title Lord Stratford when he was made a working peer in the House of Lords in summer 2005 after retiring as a member of Parliament.

Had a brain hemorrhage while on vacation/holiday on Sanibel Island, Florida, USA. He was rushed to a hospital in neighbouring Fort Myers where he died.

A passionate and outspoken vegetarian, he was dedicated to the anti-hunting lobby and served as vice-president of the League Against Cruel Sports.

Was involved in a near-fatal motorcycle accident in his youth.
