Ellen Bang made her last appearance in 1951 in what was also the last production by cinema veteran Carl Froelich. After that, she completely disappeared from the public eye.

Australian actress Ruby Rose is her great-granddaughter.

Before Ellen Bang first appeared in front of the camera at the age of 28, she was probably acting on stage.

She was a very busy film interpreter in the Third Reich. Between 1934 and 1945, Ellen Bang played supporting roles in nearly thirty films. She covered the entire spectrum of small parts: from the secretary to the prima ballerina and English lady to a princess.

Ellen Bang was a member of the Berlin soldiers' stage in the last Reich German season in 1943/44, and of the guest performance stage "Deutsche Bühne GmbH" in her first post-war season (1947/48).

No fixed commitments can be made out during her first acting period. Even later, only very few permanent stage commitments can be determined and then only at less important venues.

A short comeback in front of the camera after 1945 brought her three film offers in 1950/51.

Ellen Bang was married to the actor and later Reich film dramaturge Ewald von Demandowsky from 1930 to 1936.

Her father was a master chimney sweep.
