  • Sarvadaman Banerjee is an Indian film and television actor popularly known for his iconic role as Lord Krishna in Ramanand Sagar's mythological television series 'Shri Krishna' (1993), and other classic movies.

    Born in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, Sarvadaman Banerjee graduated from FTII, Pune and started his acting career in 1983 with role of Adi Shankaracharya, in the movie by the same title. The movie won critical acclaim and bagged many awards including the National Award for the Best Film of the year and is indeed a timeless classic. Since then, one after the other, great spiritual characters came in search of this blessed artist. Adi Shankaracharya made in 1983 by G.V. Iyer is the first Sanskrit movie in the world. At the 31st National Film Awards, it won four awards: Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Audiography. The Magnum Opus - Sarvadaman Banerjee brought Lord Krishna alive to the screen in the 1993 television series, 'Shri Krishna', written and directed by Ramanand Sagar. A role he first declined and later took up following a divine vision. Since then, he is fondly addressed as Krishna! Krishna intuitively knew that one day he will play the role of Swami Vivekananda, and it came true in 1984 movie 'Swami Vivekananda', also directed by G V Iyer. He played the role of Kannappa - a steadfast devotee of Lord Shiva, in the 1997 tele serial 'Om Namah Shivaya'; and has also acted in other major mythological shows of the time. Some of his other popular movies are: Paiso Mara Parmeshwar, Swayam Krushi, Shri Dattadarshanam, and Sirivennela. In the 1985 Telegu movie titled 'Shri Datta Darshanam', Krishna appears as Lord Dattatreya, and in fourteen other makeovers as well. His 1986 movie Sirivennela, written and directed by the veteran director K Vishwanath, had bagged five state awards and remains an Evergreen classic. In 2016, Krishna made a cameo appearance in 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story'

    In 2022 he performed the pivotal role of 'Chief Minister PKR' in Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi's blockbuster movie 'Godfather'.
