- Joseph Jay Bamberger was born on July 27, 1878 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He was a producer and director, known for A Sheffield Blade (1918), The White Hen (1921) and Candytuft, I Mean Veronica (1921). He was married to Adelaide Stewart, Marguerite Hutchinson and Adelaide Maude Legall. He died on August 23, 1961 in Vallauris, Alpes-Maritimes, France.

- A nephew of Utah Governor Simon Bamberger, Joseph Jay Bamberger started out owning and operating theaters in New York City; in 1909 he went to London and established a chain of theaters called Electric Films Ltd. He shuttled between the States and Britain directing and producing movies until the outbreak of World War II when he retired to Laguna Beach, California.
