Biography

  • Allison Balson, best recognized for her portrayal of the adopted "nasty" Nancy Oleson on the original Little House on the Prairie TV series (Season 8), and Little House: A New Beginning, has been in front of the camera since she was five years old. She began her career as a child model featured on covers and editorials for notable brands including MACYs, Saks 5th Ave., I. Magnin, The Broadway, MILK, Clorox, Coca-Cola, General Mills, Gunny Sak, and Laura Ashley. Allison's first national commercial was the M&M's "Candy Man" campaign. Allison honed her artistic skills under the tutelage of the San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Childrens' Opera, Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Stanley Holden, Louis Dapron, and her Alma Mater, Princeton University's Triangle Club. Theater, television and film roles rounded out her career resume.

Allison’s musical experience includes writing and producing several albums, performing at ticketed venues and festivals, publishing, and performing songs for TV/film soundtracks. She parlayed her passion for the singer/songwriter and the process of creating music through the syndicated radio program, entitled, "Music Scene Live". Allison hosts, edits and produces the show, which features musical guest artists in conversation, and a live performance of their original songs, in front of an audience.

Allison continues to be involved in media projects, acting, songwriting, recording, producing, hosting and writing. She enjoys supporting various charities, foundations and arts-related institutions as a spokesperson and a sponsor.
