Biography

Dave Bald Eagle was born on April 8, 1919 in Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation, South Dakota, USA. He was an actor, known for Imprint (2007), Neither Wolf Nor Dog (2016) and Skins (2002). He was married to Josee Kesteman and Penny Rathburn. He died on July 22, 2016 in Cheyenne River Indian Reservation, South Dakota, USA.

He served in the US Army during WWII, where he fought in the landings at Anzio in Italy and was awarded the Silver Star. He was severely wounded by German fire while parachuting into Normandy during D-Day. After the war, he was a drummer for Cliff Keyes Big Band.

He was the grandson of Chief White Bull, who fought in the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876.

He eventually went to Hollywood, where he trained several stars, including John Wayne, in horse and gun handling, and worked as Errol Flynn's stunt double. In the late 1950s, he joined a rodeo display team.

His Lakota name translates as "Wounded in Winter Beautiful Bald Eagle".
