If Ian Hunter went would we have a Mott [Mott the Hoople] film? Plant [Robert Plant] with Zeppelin [Led Zeppelin]? All these groups are superior to Queen and yet here we are.

In all David Hepworth books - which are magnificent documents of the rock era - Queen get barely mentioned. This is not a prejudice but simply how it was. They were not a particularly notable or original group. How they have come to be heroic is amazing to we of a certain age.
