Biography

Benny Baker was born on May 5, 1907 in St. Joseph, Missouri, USA. He was an actor, known for Paint Your Wagon (1969), Rose Bowl (1936) and Captains of the Clouds (1942). He was married to Edith Turgell and Margery Chapin. He died on September 20, 1994 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Baker was a member of The Lambs, the prestigious actors club of NYC.

Moon-faced, chubby American comedy actor, a former grocery truck driver. Acted in vaudeville and burlesque during the 1920's, before graduating to slapstick comedy on screen (including work for Hal Roach). From the mid-1930's under contract with Paramount, seen in many small roles as bank clerks, bellboys and cab drivers.
