Biography

Gillian Bailey was born on June 14, 1955 in Wimbledon, South London, England, UK. She is an actress, known for Here Come the Double Deckers! (1970), Blake's 7 (1978) and Poldark (1975). She was previously married to Richard Everett.

Since giving up acting, she worked as a script editor. She then completed her university studies and received a degree in English Literature and has since received an MA degree in Theatre Research. She has recently received a doctorate degree in Theatre and currently lectures at Royal Holloway College, Egham, Surrey, England.

Around the late 1960s / early 1970s she was living in Taplow, Buckinghamshire. At this time she was selected to be one of the child stars of "Here Come the Double Deckers" for which two thousand children auditioned.

Now Professor of Women's Performance History at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, University of London.
