Heinz Badewitz was born on 26 May 1941 in Hof, Bavaria, Germany. He was a production manager and actor, known for The American Friend (1977), Mathias Kneissl (1971) and Kings of the Road (1976). He died on 10 March 2016 in Graz, Styria, Austria.

Initiated the German film festival &quot;Hofer Filmtage&quot; in the mid-60ies
and directed it for at least 25 years.

Received &quot;Bundesverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse&quot; from the president of
the Federal Republic of Germany. (1998)
