Pam Ayres was born on 14 March 1947 in Stanford-in-the-Vale, Oxfordshire, England, UK. She is a writer and actress, known for The Secret World (2008), Playbus (1988) and Rex the Runt (1991). She is married to Dudley Russell. They have two children.

On receiving the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) I am good entertainer, I have a made a lot of people laugh. I never really saw myself as a person producing literature, but nevertheless it is a very, very nice thing to be given.
