Yuriy Avsharov is a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, theater director, teacher. People's Artist of the Russian Federation.
In 1961 he graduated from the Boris Shchukin Theatre School, specializing in 'Actor of Drama Theatre and Cinema', course of Vladimir Etush. He worked for a year at the Kamchatka Regional Drama Theater after being assigned to it. Then he returned to Moscow. Since 1962 - an artist of the Moscow Academic Satire Theater. He was the Artistic Director of the Michael Chekhov Studio Theatre, where he played in several plays. He did a lot of teaching work. Since 1967 - at the B. Shchukin Theatre School, professor. Since 1998 - head of the acting department at the Gavrila Derzhavin International Slavic Institute. Starred in films.
