- Frank Avianca was born on September 16, 1936 in Sicily, Italy. He was a producer and actor, known for Blood Song (1982), The Undertaker (1988) and Clay Pigeon (1971). He died on February 26, 2014 in Somer, New York, USA.
- He was the opening act (under the name of Frankie Sardo) for the 1959 "Winter Dance Party" tour made famous by the deaths of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper in a plane crash on February 3, 1959. At the time, he had a single on the charts in the Midwest called "Fake Out".
- He broke into show business as a rock and roll singer under the name Frankie Sardo.
